Research policies and facilities
The University of Turin responds to the priorities identified by the United Nations (Agenda 2030), the European Commission (Horizon Europe), and the Ministry of University and Research (PNRR and PNR). It is committed to its role as a reference point for the local transition towards a knowledge-based development model. This is made possible thanks to impactful research, which can renew itself to have a positive impact locally.
UniTo is therefore committed to promoting innovative research, which considers the potential for development and interaction with the socio-cultural context to encourage the production of tangible and intangible scientific results and increase their social, economic and cultural impact. The University outlines this vision of research in its Strategic Plan 21-26 and defines policies, strategies, and objectives for its implementation.
To guarantee the effectiveness and quality of its research, UniTo embraces the principles of Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI). It also encourages a focus on cross-cutting issues recognized internationally as essential to responding to the challenges of the contemporary world that research must confront. These include research ethics and integrity, gender equality and inclusive research, the environmental impact of research (DNSH) and Open Science.
